I think from comments made, the large size (1.4 cubic feet) and the fact that it is a full 1200 watt machine has surprised some people because of its price. Some people thought the squarer shape was a good idea because there was no problems with food touching the sides of the oven as it was turning during the cooking process.

This Sharp microwave oven appears to be a popular microwave oven with 69% of reviewers giving it a 5 rating, and the total for ratings of 5 and 4 totalled 82%. Further it would appear that the few lower ratings (1) were more associated with delivery damage sustained to the Sharp microwave oven rather than the actual performance of the microwave. So operational ratings are in fact higher than stated. As an added aside, Amazon’s customer support and quick delivery were given a thumbs up by quite a few reviewers.

They were impressed with its size and the accuracy of the preset buttons. Although it would appear that to have a successful relationship with your new microwave from the start it is adviseable to read the manual. For example, there were quite a few disappointed people who had nuked their popcorn. But there are three settings for popcorn, and I am sure if they had read the manual they would have found out this fact.
